You overwhelm me. There’s no other word for it. Just when I’m sailing along, thinking I’ve got You all figured out, You do it again. You come, with Your tides of mercy, Your enormous waves of love, and swamp my boat, completely turn it over, and make me realize that I’ve put You in a box, made You too small. My imagination cannot confine You; the universe cannot contain You.

You are magnificent and free. I look at You and marvel. I realize that as You break free from my expectations, You’ve also freed me – to see how wide, how deep, how high is Your love. This love that burns me with its fire and soothes me with its grace. This love that can’t be quantified; this God that must be magnified.

“O magnify the Lord with me,
And let us exalt His name together.”
(Psalm 34:3)
